My name is Marla Zubrinic. I was born in Denver and raised in Arvada, Colorado. I am married to John, and we have three adult children, who attended and graduated from area Catholic schools.
I attended the University of Northern Colorado and later transferred to Metropolitan State College, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in psychology. After graduating college, I began teaching religious education classes at St. Catherine of Siena, where I received my religious education and sacraments of initiation as a child. Shortly after that, I was hired to work as Director of Religious Education and was offered the opportunity to earn a certificate from the Catechetical School.
I felt a calling to leave my work at St. Catherine’s to become a schoolteacher. I earned my teaching certificate, and I was hired at St. Bernadette Catholic School, where I taught middle school social studies and religion. We moved to Westminster, and I was hired at Nativity as one of the third grade teachers. After three years, I was given the opportunity to teach middle school religion again. I was delighted to return to teaching religion full time, as it is my passion to share my Catholic faith with young people!
Currently, I attend the Denver Catholic Biblical School. I enjoy learning more about the scriptures and growing in knowledge and faith. I am humbled and honored to be blessed by God with a beautiful family and be a part of the Nativity community.
